Leather Westnofa Siesta Arm Chairs By Ingmar Relling
A pair of the rare Arm version of the Westnofa of Sweden Siesta Chair by Ingmar Relling with one ottoman. So comfortable and sturdy. This chair came in two styles, high back and low back, this is the Low Back. W: 27H: 34D: 30Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition. As good as I have ever seen for these particular chairs. Leather is supple and rich with wonderful patina. One button is missing from the seat of one chair. There is a darker spot that looks like wear pattern on the ottoman. Bent birch frames are near perfect - very little scuffing, just could use minor cleaning of feet. Cords are great. Foam still great. MORE INFO:Modern Scandinavian furniture has a long history of innovative design and quality construction and no other designer has more awards than Ingmar Relling. The famous "Siesta" chair and ottoman are among his most prized works and still captures the true Scandinavian flavor. This elegant chair with its proud profile was originally Relling's submission to the Norwegian Furniture Council competition in 1964, where he won a well deserved first prize. Since then, the highest distinctions have been lavished on the chair and its creator. More than a million Siesta chairs have been made and exhibited at many important museums and galleries all around world. The Siesta is surprisingly comfortable thanks to a heavy canvas sling interwoven into a flexible laminated bent wood frame and soft padding that conforms to your body. The Siesta is available in various leathers in a high back or low back version.Payment: Paypal only due by 3 days end of auction.Shipping: Varies by location and type of service you want. These are fine chairs and should be freighted by a reputable carrier such as Plycraft, ext of your choice. Depending where you are, this will run at least 200. You can also option for Greyhound shipping. Packing will cost $40 and shipping another approx $85 or so, but I can not insure it that way. Another option is that I take the chairs apart and ship you the disassembled pieces in a large box - I guestimate that charge to be around $100. I have heard re-assembly is simple, you would have to restring the cords, screw back in the frames, but I hold no liability in the case you cannot put the chair back in proper condition. International shipping is a whole other story. Please contact me if interested.Local pick up is always welcome. Returns: Always accepted, but buyer pays shipping charges.Note: The lamp in the BG is also for sale. See my other items. I was advised to remove the hex bolts with a 3/16 allen wrench and this chair comes appart very nicely for shipping in a large, thinbox .There is nothing to be gained ,packing and shipping wise, by unstringing the canvas support as it will fold very nicely in a thin box. So packing and shipping for all three pieces, I guestimate to be around $100 - $150.
