is a really incredible swivel office chair. The chair has many
adjustments. The contoured back support will adjust up and
down. The back support will also adjust in an arc toward or away from
the seat. The seat height is adjustable by lifting a lever above the 4
star base and turning the seat clockwise to lower the seat or counter clockwise
to raise the seat. When the height adjustment lever is down (nestled into
the notch in the seat post) the seat will rotate around in either direction
without changing the height. Also there is a tension adjuster under
chair is incredibly solid. The seat and the base are crafted from solid
oak. The seat is quartersawn oak which is comprised of tongue and groove
segments. The base has an iron spider which is held with screws and 4
bolts and keeps the legs tight against the column. The round iron knob for the
back support arc adjustment has "H. B. & W. Co. TW"
embossed, which stands for Heywood Brothers & Wakefield Co.

antique chair has wear commensurate with its age. The leather seat has
scuffs, wear, and spots, with horsehair padding. The cane back is in
fairly good condition. The wood has some finish losses, some bumps, and minor
losses. The metal collar above the base and adjusting knobs have surface rust.
measurements given are approximate. The seat measures 15 5/8" wide
and 15" deep. The back support is 12 3/4" wide and 11 1/2"
tall. The 4 star base measures 22 1/4" across. The
measurement from front of the chair to the back is 18 1/2".
